NEUE MOBILITÄT BERLIN at the 6th MOABIT ENERGY DAY

On September 7, 2017, NEUE MOBILTÄT BERLIN (NMB) presented itself for the first time at MOABIT ENERGY DAY. Invited by the Moabit Company Network, Rolf Mienkus (insel-projekt.berlin UG) gave a brief overview of the prerequisites, the conditions and the results of the research project so far in Info-Workshop 1 “Sustainable Mobility and City-Logistics”.

Integrated into the lectures of representatives of the Berlin Agency for Electromobility (eMO, Frank Panse, “Sustainable Mobility in Urban Commercial Transport”) and BEHALA (Klaus-Günter Lichtfuß, “The Full Electric Supply Chain for Sustainable Urban Logistics of Tomorrow”) the approach was to convince people of the advantages of multimodal mobility without an own car and remained of great concern.

Subsequently, NMB moved to its stand at the exhibition in front of the City Hall Tiergarten, which was held in parallel (see photo, copyright: STATTBAU GmbH). LARS, the electro (rental) cargo bicycle, which was acquired as part of the project, took also part as well as a roll-up of the research project of the TU Berlin “Distribut-e – Green Supply Chains for the City of Tomorrow” in which the insel-project.berlin is being integrated too.

"The 6th Moabit Energy Day was a very welcome opportunity for cross-border, neighbourly exchange of districts."

The well-visited presentation of energy efficiency and climate protection topics showed, in addition to the offers of large players such as Vattenfall and BSR, as well local neighbourhood projects related to the urban development concept of Green Moabit.

Conclusion: The jump over the edge of the ISLAND has paid off for NEUE MOBILITÄT BERLIN; new contacts were established and existing ones were deepened. The exchange between the nearby neighbourhoods with regard to innovative mobility approaches is to be further developed in spite of, or precisely because of, their location in two different districts.
