Mobile ideas for a changing society

The project Neue Mobilität Berlin (NMB) investigates the possibilities and limitations of local mobility.
In Charlottenburg, on the Mierendorff-ISLAND and in the Klausenerplatz-Kiez specific questions are asked exemplary for Berlin:

  • How do I move through my quarters and through Berlin as a young, active or elderly person?
  • What are the problems or possibilities for improvement?
  • Which and how much traffic do we actually want in the neighbourhood?
  • What are the alternatives?
  • Who can provide specific support on site and how?

Liveable urbanity

The desire of the NMB project is to inspire all local residents to sustainable upgrade their own environment through innovative mobility concepts.
The NMB strives to help the inhabitants, the people working here as well as other local actors to facilitate life through more flexible mobility.
In the focus of the model project:

  • The public discussion about future-oriented, today already usable transport solutions for all people in the city.

Start to move and drive off
The consideration of one’s habits and needs serves as an indicator for tomorrow’s means of transport:

  • Do I have to rely on my own car in the future as a working person?
  • How do I quickly and easily get to the everyday necessities as an elderly person?
  • How is my child safely moving on the way to school and leisure activities?

Continuous technical advances expand the existing options and offer at the same time always the opportunity to think about our mobility behavior:

  • What mobility offers do the inhabitants require on the Mierendorff-ISLAND or in the Klausenerplatz-Kiez to satisfy their individual mobility needs?
