THE SUMMER FLEET GOES ON!
Our invitation to get by for a month without a private car was well received. 15 participants moved through their everyday lives with mobility vouchers worth approx. 300 euros and gained valuable experience regarding innovative shared mobility.
The experiment, which originally took place in the pilot neighborhoods “Mierendorff-INSEL” and “Klausenerplatz-Kiez”, was implemented on a larger scale in 2019, namely throughout the entire Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf district.
Those who could not participate in 2018 or 2019 can already look forward to the SUMMER FLEET 2020.

MOST IMPORTANT FACTS
The Kick-Off Event
From more than 80 YOUR SUMMER FLEET applicants, 15 car owners successfully entered and completed the campaign in June 2018.
The Vehicle Handover
Unusually high levels of activity in the parking garage at BER Airport. Participants parked their cars safely and were shuttled to the final stop of the U7 underground line in Rudow.
Finally, YOUR SUMMER FLEET voucher booklets were sent via e-mail to the participants together with an online survey by the Center for Technology and Society (ZTG) of the Technical University (TU) Berlin.

SUBSCRIPTION-BASED SERVICE
... monthly credit packages that are centrally billed, irrespective of the means of transport and the sharing provider opted for.
MOBILITY STATIONS
... improved availability of and parking facilities for shared mobility through rededicated parking spaces on public street space.

YOUR SUMMER FLEET 2018 - SCIENTIFIC FINDINGS
To assess the effectiveness of YOUR SUMMER FLEET, interviews have been conducted with all participants. Participants filled out an online interview before the start of the campaign, and upon conclusion of the mobility month they took part in one-on-one interviews. Gathered information gave insights on general mobility preferences and requirements, daily mobility routines and the benefits of new, smart and sustainable forms of transport suitable for daily life.
Findings were used to answer the following questions:

What knowledge is valuable to (shared) mobility providers and users?
The final evaluation can be found in the YOUR SUMMER FLEET booklet and the scientific publication of the Center for Technology and Society (ZTG) of the Technical University (TU) of Berlin.
